You should follow the specs listed in the operators manual for the Powermax45.....use the cut charts and consumables listed for the mechanized torch (even though the T45V is a hand torch). It is particularly important to use the machine torch shield (as you have listed, part number 220673) for mechanized cutting to maintain proper torch to work distance.
45 amp shielded consumables for mechanized cutting:
Shield: 220673, Retaining cap: 220713 (if your height control uses "ohmic contact for finding the plate use 220719), Nozzle: 220671, Swirl ring: 220670, Electrode: 220669.
There also is a set of 30 amp consumables for cutting between 20 and 30 amps for materials thinner than 10 gauge...these unshielded consumables will allow for slower speeds and thinner kerf width. To use these consumables you need to order all of the components...Retaining cap: 220483, Nozzle:220480, Swirl ring: 220479, Electrode: 220478 (you do not need the deflector)....these are the same parts as used in a Powermax30 torch.

If you use something different and it works good let me know that to. I am new to Hypertherm changing from Thermal Dynamics. | |
