    Max 100

We picked up an old Max 100 hypertherm Max 100 240/480v will it work with 208 3 phase or will we have to get tranformers

That unit probably will not work well with low input line voltage as it is an older technology, chopper/transformer power supply. You could probably run it with either a buck/boost transformer or a step up transformer to get the voltage closer to the 240 volt rating. Unfortunately....a properly sized transformer will probably cost as much as a new Powermax65 plasma.....which will cut circles around the older technology of the Max100....and will run on any voltage (single or three phase) between 200 and 600 volts.

We can't even getting it to fire with 208 and have found the copper is not kicking any DC volts out.

A fairly common symptom of a transformer based plasma operating at low line voltage is that it will not fire the torch. The Max100 is relatively easy to troubleshoot....likely the problem would be with one if its interlock mechanisms'. I would suggest that you get a copy of the manual, as well as talk to Hypertherm's tech service department....they are very helpful. The manual can be downloaded at Hypertherm | Plasma Cutters | Plasma Cutting Equipment | Metal Cutting Equipment | CAM Software | Fiber Laser Cutting Equipment click on download library and follow the prompts, the tech service contact info is below.
