| In my opinion every cnc machine should have a close, dedicated ground rod. The rod should be a "star" grounding point.....attach a heavy gauge cable from every machine component (computer chassis, THC chassis, electronics box chassis) as well as the work ground cable from the plasma. Run another wire (multi stranded...same size as the work ground cable) to the slat bed and bolt securely. Purchase a UPS (uninteruptible power source) from an office supply store of adequate rating (should be 1.5 times the kva rating of the electronics and the machine PC) and plug the electronics box and the PC power input into the protected outlets on the UPS. Usually this will solve the problem. Jim Colt Hypertherm
