hello, this is my first post, i have a powermax 1000 with a T60 torch, the torch no long works properly, the electrode sticks and unless you tap the side of the head it stays in it's internal ground mode, when the electrode pops free it starts cutting, my view is this is the inherent problem that has caused hypertherm to come out with the retrofit DURAMAX with no moving parts in the head to jam, the T60 was a retro fix for the previous torch with the moving nozzle, I'm not about to buy the new retro band aid hypertherm is offering, my torch only has maybe 40 or 50 hours of use, so I'm hoping someone on here has replaced their T60 torch head innards, heres a pic of what i'm talking about, maybe i can pull this thing out and fix it some how or maybe just smash it flat with a big hammer, OK no hammer, maybe i can convert it to use the spring loaded electrode for in the duramax, thanks for any help, Lawrence. |
