Guys I'm having issues wth hypertherm 1070 gas console blowing out the nitrogen tube. This will be the 6th one we've replaced. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue. Hypertherm keeps telling me there is a leak some where between the console and the head of the torch, I CAN'T FIND ANY LEAKS. |

| The gas flowtube is made from glass, and it is a precision flow tube. There is a tungsten ball of critical weight and diameter inside the tube. A downstream leak causes the ball to rapidly rise in the tube...likely smacking the top orifice of the glass tube and shattering the tube. I would agree that there would likely be a leak causing the problem. You may want to look at the other flowtubes on your system...if I remember correctly....there is supposed to be a small plastic "X" shaped snubber cushion that should be installed in the top nipple that the tube slides over. This snubber is designed to minimize the chance of the tube shattering when the ball rapidly rises to the top. Maybe the tube fell out at one point and was never replaced? Jim Colt Hypertherm |
