| I recommend using the same gauge size wire that is used for the work ground clamp for your Hypertherm Powermax 1000. The 1000 is rated for 60 amps....so the wire could possibly carry current up to 60 amps. A # 6 AWG wire can handle 60 amps....for this application it is best to get a highly flexible, multi strand welding wire...usually available at weld supply stores. Larger is ok as well! Jim Colt |
