| I have a controlled automation plasmax table with a hypertherm HPR260 and command THC. My problem is that occasionally my torch lifter is behaving like a sewing machine, that is to say that it is bobbing up and down as makes it's cut. It is very difficult to find a problem because the problem may happen 2 or 3 times then it will cut normally. It tends to happen on 1/2" steel. I am hoping someone might have some suggestions as to what may cause this to happen. Thanks! Greg |

| Your best bet is to contact Hypertherm technical service, they are free and they are very good at diagnosing problems with you over the phone. Likely the issue is very simple....there is a DIP switch on the main Command THC board that has 3 or 4 various settings to control the feedback sensitivity. I'm pretty sure that by resetting this switch to a less sensitive setting...your problem will be solved. Adjusting the switch is outlined in the Command operators manual.....but is best to contact the service techs.
