    Sensor thc card

Would it be wrong to address my message to Jim knowing that he always replies and is always helpful???!!!

Im trying to hookup a hypertherm sensor thc voltage divider card and it has a couple of connections im unsure about, wondered if anyone could help.

Beside the work and electrode connections is a shield connection, which appears to be connectedthrough the shield relay?

Next to the 24v connections there are nce and ncs connections? One appears to drive the shield relay and the other an optocoupler on the board.

Where should i connect them to? My guess was that the theory of operation was that the shield relay stayed open until after the hf had finished then opened so does it need to be connected to the machine motion relay? There is also some print on the board about ohmic sensing, how would this be connected typicaly?

    Thanks for any help

    Matt

If this is in a 65 or 85 unit the two leads go through the the lower serated hole inthe plastic and the smaller on hooks the the backside of the main board and the bigger one hooks to the backside of the main board higher up about 6 inches. It is easier to see where the two little plugs go if you unscrew the bottom of the front and use a flat screwdriver on the little metal tab on the bottom to pull the face away from the main body 1". You should have gotten a field install guide with your divided tip volts card. It also screws into the plastic where the two little hole standoffs are on the fan side.

Your best bet is to contact Hypertherm's tech service group....they can probably send you detailed wiring instructions for the Sensor (Is it a Sensor PHC or Sensor THC, and what plasma?)
