I have a job to do and my customer supplied 12 ga SS with "Nitto Denko Laser Guard 3100HS Blue Protective film" on it. Does anyone know if I can plasma through it or if it should be removed first.
CNC Hypertherm 1250.
Thanks
It cuts fine.

Not all plasma systems will penetrate the film at the start of a cut. The Hypertherm will work fine....but my experience is that the film melts back about 1/16" and makes a mess on the material.

Jim, Joe:
Thanks guys, I wanted to check first because there was a limited amount of material, no extra for screw ups. I got the job done, it cut fine, like you said. Even cutting on a water table with exhaust fans, it STINKS! I used an air supplied respirator when close to it.
Jim I love the HT1250! I have a hand trorch on it that fits the mount on my CNC machine, I find I pick up the O/A less and less for small trim jobs.
