    powermax 800 - any problems

Sorry - posted this on wrong thread before.

I am looking at a used powermax 800 which I understand to be a 50 amp machine. Is this machine similar to the 1000 (except for capacity) with fine cut consumables available ??

    Any info appreciated.

The 800 is a 50 Amp air plasma that is two generations before the Powermax1000. It is not the same, the inverter design is different, and the torch is different. If it is in good operating condition, and the price is right, then it is still a better unit than many new systems on the market today! There are FineCut consumables available for this unit. Some parts are still available for the unit, but not all...as it has been out of production for over 12 years. I believ you can download the operators manual at www.hypertherm.com click on document downloads, pick Powermax800 from the drop down menu, and choose operator manual.
