Recently my old compressor died so I replaced it with a unit that puts out almost 60 % more cfm's. The problem lies in the added moisture the unit produces. Up to this point I was running 2 auto style filters and the one that comes standard on the 1250.
Long story short , moisture apperently blew the circut board . I tried running nitrogen thru the system as some recommended. The unit wants to fire but just barely starts. It will not cut butter. I took the 1250 to a local hypotherm repair center and they said it would be approx. $ 1600,00 just for the new board plus no gaurentee that that would be all the unit needed. HELP !
Moisture in your air lines does not get anywhere near any circuit boards in a Hypertherm plasma system.....so I doubt that your compressor had anything to do with the problem. I would suggest calling Hypertherm tech service directly...they can help you troubleshoot the issue. There are a lot of shops that like to change expensive boards....hoping that will fix the issue.....they could be right, but I would suggest a second opinion.
