    Red face Hypertherm Sensor Torch Height Control

    good day to all,
    Need help with hypertherm THC. The machine i am working with seen to have a problem on the THC, the problem i was facing now is after the arc is transfer and start to move the torch lifter will start to move up until the arc cut off. Any advice on what i can check or do. Controller is using edge II with sensor THC PCB

    hope to get a replay asap from cnczone friends =)

    The Sensor has to read a voltage from the plasma cutter (you don't mention model)....usually a divided arc voltage at a 50:1 ratio. If the voltage divider has failed or you have a broken connection....the z axis will move upwards trying to achieve the correct voltage. Eventually the arc will be too long and will extinguish. Best bet is to work with the machine builder to sort this out. Jim Colt Hypertherm

    I think my Sensor THC requires full voltage. I had to bypass the voltage divider.

    What does the arc voltage readout on your controller say? Sounds like you are not getting feedback from the Ohmic sensor.
