    3d free path milling

    hi

    when using 3d free path milling, can I take more them 1 depth of cut? instaed of cutting 1" deep in 1 pass it would be 5 passes at .2 dp.

    On the latest version, you can give it a machining depth on the parameter page and than a vertical step-down.

    I'm not sure about older versions...what version are you on?

    thanks that's what I was looking for

    running the latest veresion, I can't look as when we hit info button (solidworks based) it locks it up

    if open mind is monitering there is a bug to add to list

    I'm also running the SW version...totally loving it!

    Anyways, when I hit the version info button it takes a second and a half but it opend and has all the version information.

    Have you contacted your Openmind Office about this?

    Dear Sir,

    you want to do vertical stepdown? normally you do in parameter. you can cut 1 mm depth in stock by 5 pass vertical stepdown. you put z-offset contour in -1 and also stock allowance in -1.5. stock allowance is greater than z-offset contour. -1 is under cut in stock model. and then you put machining depth is 1 and vertical stepdown is 0.2. this is 5 passes at 0.2 mm. ok, do you not clear. never mind you can see a photo in attach
