I decided to put a Windows 7 32 bit computer together to try the new 2009.2 software.

It looks like they deleted the Utilities disk and installation!?? I did not know this was so till I started the install. The 2009.2 is not designed for Win 7 so maybe the installer is just not working properly but it did look like it worked OK.

I will let you all know what happens.

EDIT: It did not install correctly. It only partially functions inside of Inv. It will open the browser but complains about tool database. If I try to open the tool database it complains that a DLL is missing. I think somebody told me that they did get it to work inside of Win 7 32bit . . . I will play some more.

We finally got the service pack last week that lets us run the 2009.2 code in Windows 7 (32 bit only) and in Inventor 2011. I was never able to use Inventor 2010 so I am now looking at how many changes there are in jumping two versions.

I am still needing the 64 bit version of the code so I can use my new laptop but for now I am up and running on my old Pentium D desktop PC. I wonder if it is still third quarter?

Cheers
Dave
