Hi I'm new to hypermill, but have experience with delcam /edgecam. I'm having trouble with the 3d arbitrary rough cycle.i'm trying to control the starting point of the cut and also keep the cut as climb milling. I've selected climb milling on the parameters but the tool path switches from climb to conventional throughout the path. any help would be most appreciated. thanks |

| Hi brummie31 For the climb mill problem maybe try "rapid in" as your selected option, and for the start prosition it depends on the stock condition and if a boundary is used. If a boundary is used that matches your stock condition then you limit your options to plunge to depth off the job and they cycle will be forced to ramp into material. You can also force a start condition by using the plunge point option. By forcing a start point you limit how optimised the cycle becomes in finding the quickest way around the part but i understand you might be using this to control limit were you want it cutting Failing that give the support line a call in oxford and they can take a look at your problem or let me know your company name and someone will call you. |
