Open and closed pocket machining with tool paths that ensure that there are never any full width cuts. I would love to see this kind of functionality in Hypermill. This is a pic if it from the OneCNC web site. ![]() This functionality is in BobCAD, MasterCAM and other top CAM products. Open Mind needs to add it too. Cheers SF

Thank you for the response. The video gallery shows parts being cut on machine tools. I wish to see parts being programmed in Hypermill. Big difference. Why do you have no demo along with comprehensive tutorials for Hypermill so someone can download Hypermill and try it?

OneCNC's HS tool paths do indeed function with both open and closed features..2D and #d too.. But I respect this is a Hypermill thread and don't want to hijack it..

The reason I said what I did was because a friend of mine just had a OneCNC video IM with a sales engineer last week. We are working on a part that has just such an open architecture and the engineer did not know how to proceed on this very point. Here is a copy of the sample igs file that he was using for the OneCNC demo. Can you tool path it? Cheers SF

SF: Your point on roughing is noted. We will inform you by direct method if/when we have a comment on this. HS: As your discussion continues, it is best to contact under your threads. Of course, the correct answer is important. But SF also makes a poignant comment that products are not always presented to their capability by company representatives.

Could you start a new thread in the OneCNC section. And I'll be glad to see if I can answer your Questions..
