    Hi Kojack:

Mastercam and Delcam are generally sold by dealers in the USA, so the end-user price may have some inconsistencies depending on each agency.

You will find OPEN MIND very price competitive in 2D/3D applications, and higher than Mastercam, and similar to Delcam in the 5-axis arena.

End-users should not only look at first cost when deciding to purchase a product. The value of the system may be revealed through training, programming times, and machining productivity.

Especially in the case of 5-axis machine, there is a large capital investment (depends on machine size, manufacturer, specs), and the software is one of the primary enabling technologies. With the wrong software choice, a machine may never reach its potential and return on investment is slowed. If jobs stay on the machine too long (for pre-testing or longer machining cycle times), what is the cost to the user - unable to meet a customer's deliver requirement?
