MaxII software versions

I have a '89 BMC20 with 7.24 v1 software and want to upgrade it to 8.6. The 8.6 is version2 and I want to know the difference between 8.6v1 and 8.6v2. I have Fanuc drives in my Hurco and is v2 for machines with Yaskawa drives?

7.24 is a lot earlier than 8.61 . you'll need to change the axis and spindle EPROMs as well. Make sure the executive EPROM set has the right software options installed in U75 and U76 and don't forget to back up all your programs and toolchanger height. The leadscrew map will be read from the dual axis switches on a machine of that age.

Yes, I know that. I will be getting the axis and spindle eproms as well. The dual axis jumper settings chart lists both 8.6 v1 and 8.6v2. The chips I will be getting came out of a BMC20. My question is what is the difference between v1 and v2?

The software will be the same for both. V1 or V2 refers to the hardware in the machine (CRP and relay layout). The kneemills used a different version of the software.
