| After powering up my Hurco KM3 the first time, I doesn't want to power up every time. I have got it to power up 3 or 4 times since I got it. The card rack was dirty. Yesterday I took the cards & card rack out of the Hurco. I am glad I did. It was Filthy. Chips every where. Fans were dirty. Washed the greasy dirt off of everything. I found a wire disconnected from the terminal strip going no where. It is a white wire It was just laying there. It goes up to the cable connect board (415 0193 002) I traced it to TB 52 pin 8. with an ohm meter. Pin 8 is(Mach. Return). The manual says that white wire goes to TB 4 pin 38. I have it all back together. When I start it up, all I get is a flashing courser in the lower left hand corner of the text screen.. I have two green lights on the dual axis X & Y board. Also two green lights on the dual axis Z & Spindle board (Last two boards in the card rack) A green light on the CPU board. None are flashing. Before they would flash. Before when it booted up there would be a green light on the personality board. Every thing is plunged in right. I hope I didn't smoke a board. I read something about boot loader might need to be reloaded. I have a new c-mos battery. It powered after the new bat. I had the card out of the card rack more than a day. Not over two. Dave |

| I don't know about the wire, but I do know that after a major clean, it is the little thoings that screw you up. My old mill was also filthy from spray mist.. washed all the boards with hot water (only) Made sure the "air supply switch" was bypassed, as I use no compressed air. Is your door interlock stopping you ! When I started it, it failed.. Took all the boards out, and washed the plugs/jacks with contact cleaner. replaced them and bingo, it went OK all it takes is one bad contact.. moving all those wires/fans means lots of wires being moved ?? |

I had the computer side door open when I powered it up the first time. It has a solenoid latch that stops you from opening the door with 220 volts on. I think the computer doesn't know what to do to find the ezctive file. There is no door interlock. Dave |
