Hi Folks, I had to hard reset my VM1 milling machine earlier as it froze. (One of the guys sent me a very large spline file). When I restarted it the following message came up on the machine; "axis servo hardware not detected xyzs". I had previously just calibrated the machine so I'm wondering when the machine was powered down did it engage one of the limit switches, as X+ X- also comes up on the screen in Utilities where I had not noticed it before. In the current state I cannot disable the doors, so short of removing the guards and hunting down the X limit switch does anyone have a quick solution. On the old bridgeport it would allow you to move in slow with the jog depressed to get out of such situations. I'm be very grateful for any help as I need the machine in the morning. Rgds, Scrap. |

| It almsot sounds like two problems, the XYZ etc not detected usually means the controller thinks there are no servo's connected, the X+ and X- can mean that the power has been lost to the limit switches. As they are usually active low, so power missing detects both switches open. Al.

| Missing servo hardware is usually caused by lack of encoder feedback from the servo / spindle drives. The MEI motion module picks it up and reports the error to the control. Check all the fuses to the amps in the cabinet. |

| Problems seems to have disappeared on its own for some reason. Maybe sticky switches I don't know. However the machine is still freezing. Can you reboot the PC without having to turn off the master power switch? All I did today is write one line of text about 14 words long and when I hit enter and hit the X button to return to the screen, it just froze up. Any easy way to get out of this. |
