Thanks k4rd. I actually need to know the nc formatting, as we try to avoid the conversational side, mainly due to having to re-set-up the tools whan the nc editor on the Hurco VM2 is changed from conversational back to nc. We virtually always use cad. Barry

When you say cad, do you mean you draw your parts in cad and then hand code them, or do you have some cadcam program? If cadcam, which package do you have? It probably has threadmilling. In any case, have you threadmilled before? It's exactly the same on the hurco in nc mode as it is on any other g-code control. If you don't know how to write the code or you have nothing to generate the code, try seco's threadmilling wizard, it's free. http://www.secotools.com/CorpWeb/Ser...lingwizard.exe Hope this helps, Gregor

Thanks Gregor. I send programmes from the cad, so, yes, it is cad/cam I use. I've never done thread cutting before. For some reason, our cad generated thread-cutting doesn't work. I'll try the thread-cutting wizard you sent me, and see how I get on....Many thanks...Barry

Barry, what cam program are you using? I use featurecam and generate programs containing threadmilling all the time for my hurco, works a treat. Depending on which cam program you have it's most likely just a case of choosing the correct post processor. Gregor

Hi Gregor, I'm using 'Peps Cad 6.0'. And, yes, it almost certainly is a translation problem between the cad and the post processor. I'll try that programming tool you suggested this weekend when I have some time, thanks......Barry
