Problem- BMC30D tool changer

My bmc30d faults out anytime we try to change tools to a position more than six positions away. We can go one to six, six to eleven, but then not back to one from there without first going somewhere in between...any ideas as to the cause and even better the solution?

The shop that I use to work for had a BMC 30M and a BMC 30/HT and we experience the same problem in both. I don't if the encoder thing that tells the machine where the tool changer is at is going bad, or just needs adjustment. One thing you could try is slowing down how fast the tool changer rotates to give the encoder more time to read the position. If you can get in touch with a good Hurco tec., I'm sure he could tell you more because it's a common problem with those machines.

Those Hurcos have a high and low speed valve. If you are having trouble after six positions. The high speed valve may need replaced of cleaned. Also you can adjust flow controls on valves also. Valves are under atc covers on top of machine.

during caliberation are you get tool no one. if not plz first see tool in no in configration is same like your exesiting tool and see the proxy s/w working properly
