Hello all, The company I work for may consider retrofitting a Hawk 5, as it's giving lots of trouble with the computer. I'd be grateful for comments , both pro and con on retrofitting. Also hearing about your personal experiences in doing it yourself vs having the work done. Richard |

| We had two hawk fives in the past. Boards were a problem when they got older. Seems as though the traces would crack over time from the heating and cooling cycles of the control cabinet, or so the repair techs say. The machine would do funky stuff. Lost one BIOS board and one CPU befor we got new VM1 machines. They boards are expensive to fix. $250 a board in our case. Ajax makes a good retro. |
