After finally getting my desktop to upload to my ulitimax controller on a Hurco VMX-64 Machine I seem to be limited to 8 - 10 mb for file uploads. I have used two different FTP programs and used Windows Explorer and mapped a network drive and they all stop at around 10 mb. My network admin says there is no limit to file size and Hurco assured me there is no limit on the Ulitinet. I also tried disabling my firewall to no avail. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi PATTSUPV, I had the same issue a while ago. Spoke with Hurco's tech support guys. Their suggestion was to check Windows firewall is off. Disabled my FW and had no problem at all with file transfers after that. Only thing is I'm on a firewalled system, you may have to look into an alternative firewall if you don't want to deal with this on big files all the time. Sorry just noticed the last line on your post. I know this is sorta obvious, but have you checked the filename? It won't let a non MS-DOS filename to be uploaded via the FTP protocol. Hope that's some help, Steven |

do you use norton antivirus? if so check to see what the "INTRUSION" setting is set at. if it is on, try turning it off. found in the past that this can limit file size transfer. most transfer issues ARE on the network side. ron

To anyone reading this thread - Mastercam repair tech was unable to resolve the issue with file size limits. I upgraded the controller to Winmax and now use a USB. The VP of Mastercam stopped by (not really sure why I guess because of the upgrade) and he told me the problem should have been elevated to Engineering and he guarenteed me they would have resolved the issue. Obviously there were other advantages to upgrading.

yes, we tried disabling it and removed all anti virus. we also set up a dedicated network which tells me the issue was in the controller and not our network. We are still having network issues with the new controller but I just use a USB now.

[QUOTE=PATTSUPV;689506]The VP of Mastercam stopped by (not really sure why I guess because of the upgrade) QUOTE] Correction: it was not the VP of Mastercam but the VP of Hurco. I am still having issues with the new controller freezing occationally and also with the tool sticking in the spindle and the toolchanger faulting. We added a spindle chiller but it doesn't seem to have corrected the problem.
