    HURCO BMC 40

We are having trouble with our Hurco Mill. When we power up and try to reference the axis, the machine will reference the Z and Y axis but then throws up an error on the X axis Encoder fault. I swapped the encoder with the Z and Y
encoders and it still threw up the error I have also had the X Axis cables replaced that didnt work. Hurco Tech Support has been awful now I'm stuck the only other thing I can add is on the X axis circuit board there is a little led window that shows the number 1 code I'm not sure what this means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks
    Andy

It sounds like a mechanical problem. Check the bearings on the ballscrew. On our old bmc 20 coolant gets in and causes problems.
