Whats the best way to program a threadmilling operation with the WinMax conversational? We just got a new VM1 a few days ago, and I'm working on seting up its first job. I'm milling a 1"-14 internal thread with a 1 flute carbide insert tool in aluminum. As it stands right now I'm using the Lines and Arcs to start at the center of the hole with the tool comp on the center of the tool. Moving the y tangent to the major dia. Cutting a helix to my depth. Then moving the y back to the center of the hole so i can retract it. I have it working ok, but I was wondering if there is a better way to to it. A way that i didn't have to figure out the tool comp myself. |
