your opinions on hurco hawk 5m

hello i am completely new to cnc [all manual experience] i have been offered a 96 hawk 5m with the ultimax 3 control twin screen with low hours and in very good order
what i would like to know is how these machines are thought of.. go, bad, or indifferent
i suppose I'm am also thinking about build quality, ease of use, reliability etc
please let me know your thoughts cheers chy

Hurco puts out one of the easiest to use conversational programs I have ever used. Quickly picked up and imagination is the limit. I work in an injection mold tool shop. I would say 60% of the programming is done on the conversational programming and 40 with a mastercam, bobcad, or someother off line software. The hawk is a good machine to start with.

I was a Senior Application Engineer for Hurco several years back. I had never run a Hurco before and was training in conversational with in one month to large groups. I now do training on my own and have a better manual than Hurco for training. Let me know if you need one. I also do on site training. UK is a little far but I will still give you a quote if your interested. I can have someone up to fully understanding the machine (1-2 people) in about 8-14 hours. Everything from simple face milling, pockets, and as complicated at multiple lead threads by the end. I also do ball bar testing to let you know how accurate your machine is. Glad I could help. The manual for intro and advanced $70.00 (total for both manuals). I can send you a sample page if needed.
