    Default Hurco ball screw nut

Where can I find the special tool to remove and torque the y axis ball screw support bearing nut on my 1990 BMC 20? Anyone know what the proper torque for that would be?

Did you ever get an answer?

I made my own socket to get the nut off, but I do not know what the torque setting should be. I think very low, since the preload is taken up by clamping the bearings in with the collar. The nut is just there to keep the screw from slopping around, and the lock washer keeps the nut from backing off.

I'm going to try short handle ratchet just a hair more than hand tight (snug) and see what happens.
