The switches look OK. Is the machine you are using this in an MD1 like the labels say? You can only use software that is specific to the machine it is being put in due to different I/O being used. When your old memory board stopped working, was it just after you pulled the dual axis card?
If you put your original memory board back in but leave the dual axis boards out, does it start up but very slow?
Is it just starting up to a cursor in the bottom left corner of the text display?

The old memory board is for a BMC20 - 50 and the new one is for an MD1.
If you swap the EPROMs U65 through to U76 from your old board to the new one, it will be compatible.
Also, your 3D option is held in U75 & U76. The new ones don't have 3D.

Put the U65 - U76 back into your old memory board and swap Dallas chips 1&2 with 3&4 to see if it will start. Also, remove and re-insert the Personality card.

Any part programs you have are in the Dallas rams and are probably lost or corrupted. You can sometimes get round the corruption by swapping them in pairs.

Re: hurco ultimax 2 bmc 40
I have a friend with a really old hurco with the Dallas chips. I figured out it the batteries of these chips gone dead. so i replaced them with new DS1230Y-150 chips. The machine was booting up right except when changing tools or wanting to make a new programm it hang up on me.After replacing the chips the machine just boots into a flashing cursor on the bottom left side of my left monitor.Going back to the old chips it did not work either. Now I am stuck with the flashing cursor in both cases old and new chips. the flashing cursor is mentioned here so i believe you can have a solution for this?

I have the problem with my HURCO BMC40, ULTIMAX II, When machine is power up, screen displays
" Machine config defaults have been loaded and must be verified or reset before continuing"
The values all seem to correspond to the travels of my machine in the manual and I can scroll through with the enter or advance keys and back with the back key,I can re-type the values but not get off the screen.
If anyone have rectified the same problem or have info then share please
Any suggestions?[/QUOTE]
