The little block with Benchmarq is the BIOS battery module.
Have a look here for clues...
DALLAS / ODIN / BENCHMARQ Modul modifizieren ? BIOS Battery MOD
I'm not sure if they are still available but if you get the number off the top, you may be able to source one.

you can still get them. It is getting some one to turn them on for you that is the issue. The battery is turned off in the chip, needs to be turned on. Have to send it a sting via SPI to turn it on. If you are handy with a arduino or know some on that is that would be simple they give instructions in the data sheet.

I cannot figure how to edit my previous post But I may be wrong.
I have a peak 570 out of a hurco on my bench that was booting up with CMOS battery Failure.
Ordered a coupe of dallas DS12887+, that is a cross for the bechmark. Looking over the datasheet for the IC, tells you have to turn it on.
Figured screw it plug it in and try. It works, at least I think it is. The battery failure alarm went away, and it keeps the bios settings. Will leave it off for the night and let you know in the morning.

Turned it back on this morning, Time and date was correct and the CMOS parameters were all there. Tried a DS12887A in it this after noon and it worked as well.
    They are available from digikey.
