had to replace my hall effect sensor.....

well, the other day during a hot run, my hall effect sensor went out on the vmx42 couldn't have happened when we were slow, right? ha! well, when that goes out, kiss tool changing goodbye found out when I stretched the belt by overtorquing with a spade drill, it frayed and slapped the sensor, making it wear out prematurely. had to get the part from hurco, 264 bucks they wouldnt just give me the specs on the hall effect transducer to get the part locally cuz the part is on their shelf for sale.

luckily they didnt remove the factory sticker on this one like they did at the factory when it was installed new. 107 bucks new from a few places! i didnt even get a kiss for 264 bucks oh well, i wrote the numbers down and saved it with our master files, because if our belt does it again, we wont be going down that road again.......

i will have to post the sensor info from work in the morning. if you got the sensor, you might wanna copy the info down. simple fix tho

Well, I guess that's a trade off. I have emailed Hurco a couple times with
questions that they seemed to be glad to answer. That being the case I would not hesitate to spend a little more to buy a part from them. I think I'ld have a bit of an issue though paying over 2 & 1/2 times as much. Same as you.

it is what it is, i just think that the markup from 107 to 264 was a little much. 50 bucks extra for their service of stocking the part i would have no issues with....

been meaning to add this part number in case anyone was looking.....

the part is Omron E2E-X1B1 Proximity Switch .

Mouser has it for 98 bucks, with qty discounts, so if you needed 25 of them, you could get it for 87 each at a qty of 25.
    Newark has them for 107.
    Digikey has them for 127.

then look at these price ranges.....
supply line has them for 51 bucks.
plc center has them for 64 bucks.

Omron Industrial Automation E2E-X1B1 Proximity Sensor

up and down on the price, but definately not 264 bucks.... didnt know that stocking a part for the equipment you build could warrant such high markup..... sad.

so if anyone uses the search button while trying to find this replacement part, hope they find this and save a few bucks.....

Another possibility Automation Direct PD1-AP-1A $39.00!
I never buy parts from the OEM if I can help it, there is usually always a large mark up.
