I'll have a look...
I am based in the Uk and I desperately need a new master disc for a KMB 1X. The software is 32.50B3. I thought I had a spare disc but I cannot find it and the one I have got has got a big scratch on and will not load.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll have a look...
Muchly appreciated 'bloke'
Hey Noidea, I'm relatively new as far as CNC goes, oldest I've worked on the BMCs & VM/VMX, VTXs, etc, about 7 yrs now right out of college (repair & troubleshoot, not at all a mold-maker). This is really before my time, what is a KMB? Are U talking about the Hawk 5D KM5 or KM3?
If so, check yr current software version#, if yr V1.51 or lower, the highest you can go w/o buying an upgrade security key is V1.51 (for 4-16MB memory on Ultimax 3 ISA ctrl)
V1.52 thru V1.60 all use the same security key. To upgrade from V1.51 (or V1.52P), order 002-4136-003, Optikey Software Modifier.
If Max32 ctrl, it's V1.20-1.40 (2-8 MB), V1.53 thru V1.54 all use the same security key. To upgrade from V1.20-V1.40, order 002-4136-003.
Not sure what you have, but for Ultimax 3 & 4 I have V1.2-V3.17, you have yr params backed up right?
Thank you for your reply but this is the BX control that Hurco Fitted in the eighties, it is before the Ultimax control. I also have a MaxIII/MaxIV hydrid on a BMC30HT and a new VMX42T with Winmax.
The machine needed to be booted from, originally, a tape but the machine I have has the floppy drive conversion. There were master discs depending on whether you wanted to run conversational, g code or there was a calc assist version that would work out intersects in conversational mode. I would always keep back up copies of the master disc as that was easy to do, but my only copy is now damaged and I am struggling to get hold of another copy.
I have downloaded the exe version of the software but I cannot get this to work. Maybe I have not got the correct procedure to get it in a format on the 720k disc so the Hurco can read it. Maybe someone can offer some help with this?
I had a look and only found 51-**-b3 disks for a KMB1. The UK emulator was different to the US one.
I have a KM3P with the bx control. It is in the process of being retrofitted.
In the leftover parts are a MPU board from Buddy at amts, that has interchangeable masters, & a Windows emulator.
Both work great and I would sell cheap, if you are interested.
I also have some master tapes.
Everything is bio-degradable, if you run over it enough times with the lawnmower.
