    Programing VMX42

    Hi.
We have a VMX42 with the Winmax control and looking to get a 4th axis, and one of the jobs required would be wrapping text around a cylinder on the A axis, can you do this with the conversational in Winmax? .
    Thanks Forrey.

yup, can do. we have that option but i use mastercam to program, not the conversational side. you will need to import the dxf to the controller of your part, with the engraving, and program from there.

Bugger, Thanks Shane, We have MC level 1 with solids and that is how we program all the time but for this one job with the engraving and I guess having a 4th more like it in the future. Have to decide whether to stick with MC and upgrade or move on.
    Forrey.

if your just looking to do the engraving once on the 4th, i dunno if it would be worth upgrading mastercam. sure there are some fun stuff with level 3, but if you are getting by without it now, chances are you wont need it anyways.
