    Hurco voltage change

Picked up a used Hurco SM1for $100. It needs a belt and want to change the motor to single phase. Is there a motor out there that is a direct bolt on or can make an adapter plate for it? Possibly rewire the motor? Or maybe take to a motor rebuild company to have them change it to single phase? I thought about just adding a phase converter and have seen a few that look like they automatically turn on when you turn the mill on but not sure that is how they work. I have to run 220v out to the garage so just looking for the easy way out. Any ideas? Thanks!

Buy a phase converter. You turn it on before powering up the machine.

What would happen if I forget to turn the phase converter on before the mill? What if I turn the mill off and forget to turn off the phase converter?
And how much time can I leave the mill off before I have to turn off the phase converter?

If the phase converter is off there's no power for the mill. There's no wait time starting or stopping. If you forget to turn off the converter it shouldn't hurt a thing.

Thanks. I will probably just go with a phase converter then. Do you think one of those PHASE-A-MATIC converters would work good?
