nevermind guys, found it, called boring cycle with rapid out...... g86. i didnt know all boring heads were clocked to the same position....... weird but cool.....
Does the vmx 42 have a bore shift g code or m code? i looked thru the cheat sheet of available codes, but didnt see it listed as that. I do know that our vmx42 only has one orient position, the tool change position, so if needed I suppose i could orient spindle and lock, then bump over a 32nd and rapid out.... feeding back out of the bore is gaining me nothing on this part, so the time saved is profit. if there isnt a bore shift, what is the orient spindle lock code?
the vmx42 is almost 3 years old, with winmax control.

i actually am using the g76 fine bore, since the g86 just goes straight up, the g76 steps over .05 on the x, and .083 on the y.
On ISNC G86 is a simple retract with the spindle stopped, in BNC is G86 bore orient.
As you've found out G76 is bore orient on ISNC, but you can also specify the retract move with I and J just as you could with G86 in BNC.
