Oooh, someone else from Blighty. Your main problem is going to be running the spindle motor. Who did you get it from?
Hey guys, hows you all doing?just a quick question.i have just bought a hurco kmb1 mill, early 80's,heavy and green!!!!i read on a couple of other forums via google, that these can be made to run on single phase power.would this be possible on UK 240v single phase?if so,would anyone have the relevant info/diagram they would be willing to share.
many thanks in advance,adee.

helloooo bloke,i was a little dubious about the spindle motor.i have just read the install section of the manual, and it says it can run 240v 50hz at 30 amp.not sure if it means using 2 out of 3 phases(like some welders),or just standard domestic 240v.very confusing.
i got it from a local engineering firm in hastings who were going to scrap it........maybe i should have let them.got a bit of a soft spot for machines and cldn't bring myself to let them do it.
i think it colud do with a new master tape.i did manage to load it friday night, but now comes up with error 1 & 2 now.
i'm currently powering up with a rotary phase converter, bit noisy and expensive to run, hence the conversion.
adee.
It wasn't Minerva up the Syd Little was it?
