    Hurco BMC-10L Not displaying anything

Hi every one I am new to hurco so I dont know much about it. I bought a used machine about 2 years ago its z axis encoder was broken we changed it about a month ago when we turn machine on it only shows a courser blinking on the left corner of screen. I think it is ultimax 2 control (because it has a memory board) but on sure. The jumper and switches on personality and memory board may be disturbed Please guide me and if you can tell me what those jumper/switches are for it would be help ful

    Thanks

    Memory board switches should be:
    SW1 all on
    SW2 all on except 3
    SW3 all on except 1 & 2
    SW4 5,6,7 & 8 on, 1,2,3 & 4 off

You could try booting it up with the dual axis cards pulled out of the slots in the backplane (no need to pull them all the way out). If it does start, replace them one at a time to find the culprit. the system will run slowly with these out).

It may be a comms problem between the CPU and the CRT controller. You could replace U14 & U15 on the CPU (under the graphics card) and U11 & U15 on the CRT controller. These are MC1488 & MC1489 (one of each on each board) and do the serial link between the boards.

In the axis configuration page, leave the travel lengths set as they are for now. Set the calibrate to X Right Y Back.
    Press Exit
    Press Enter 999 Enter
After re-booting, press the bottom softkey (button).

I've just seen your personality SW1 is set off,on,on,off,on,on,off, off.
These are the settings for a 10NL and can be left as they are.

Just after you've pressed "exit", press "enter" 999 "enter". It will then re-boot and then you can press the bottom softkey to start the software.

    Dual Axis Card Problem

Hi when I insert either of the axis card the machine wont boot after resetting the SW1 on personality card. Can you suggest where could the problem be because I remember the cards were working last time. Could the jumper or switch setting be a problem. Waiting for your reply.

As in my post above, you can leave your personality settings as they were originally as I noticed yours was set as a MC10LN. The settings I posted that you changed were for an MC10L. Try them back as they were. There is nothing on the dual axis card that will be different between a MC10L and an MC10LN.
You could make sure the Eproms on the dual axis cards are seated properly.
