    No power on control

I have a 1988 Hurco BMC 30. Came in this morning and there was no power on the control. I opened the side with the spindle drive and it's on with no alarms, the amp has one green light lit up, so it appears all good there, but when I open the cabinet with all the relays and such the fans are working but nothing else is no lights on anything. I have checked all the fuses I can find reseated all the boards and checked all cable connections. The spindle sometimes stops in the middle of whatever its doing and I get a spindle drive fault or agree system failure. Sometimes it does that alot and sometimes not. Actually on Friday it didn't do it at all.

    Any help is appreciated,

    John

Check that you have 115vAC to the input side of the power supply (gold mesh box, 12" x 5" x 2") between L & N.
If 115v is present, check that you have the following DC volts on the output wires relative to 0v (grey wires):
    yellow 5v
    brown 12v
    orange -12v
    blue 24v

Thanks for the reply. I checked the voltage, I am getting 135.4v in. While checking I noticed the small fuse was blown I replaced it and it blew immediately as I turned on the power. Of course with the blown fuse I got 0v out. I traced all wires out and could not find a short or anything. We have a brand new machine coming in two weeks. I just need her to hold on a bit longer lol.

Just an update. I tried unseating the boards and installing a new fuse and fired it up and it immediately blew the fuse again, I am stumped.

Which fuse is blowing? Is it inside the power supply?

Sounds like your power supply has gone west. If you just need it short term, you could fit it with a PC power supply and a separate 24v supply to replace the blown supply.
