The two round MIL-spec connectors on the back are for RS232.
I did a post on here the other day that showed the pinouts. A lot of people take the MIL-specs off and add a 9-pin instead.
Hello,
I was wondering if there is a was to upload programs from a pc to a 1984 Hurco KM-3? It doesnt appear to have any type of serial port or RS-232 connections at this time. Is that something that can be added?
thanks

So ours has a cable attached to the MIL-spec connector and the other end of the cable has been cut off. Am I able to add a 9 pin connector to it? Also, can I add a 32 pin instead and connect to the printer port of a pc?
If I have to use a 9 pin, would I have to get some sort of pci board for the pc that has a 9 pin connection?
Also, am I able to enter G code at the controller?
thanks in advance

NO
You will need a real serial port - a Parallel printer port will not work.
And a PC running DOS and a copy of the Hurco Communications software.
Your 8086/8087 control had dual serial ports so one could be used for programs transfer and the other could be attached to a Serial printer which is indeed a rare item these days.
Entering G-code at the control is a tad long-winded. If you can get an old PC, with a cd drive running Windows 95 or similar, you could use is purely as a transfer station.
If you want to use a newer PC with Hyperterminal, and USB, my mate in Hurco US says these seem to work quite well:
KeySpan USA-19HS USB to Serial Adaptor. I'll send ya a couple of files.
wrong thread sorry
