Hi all, Just wanted to let you guys know about my problem today with my X-Axis on a Hurco Hawk 5 knee mill. It suddenly began to jig back and forward as it travelled in the X - direction... I hit the E-stop and investigated. After taking the motor off and removing the encoder cover and then the encoder I discovered that the coupling between the end of the servo shaft and the encoder had sheared... £33:00 2hours later and a trip to a local supplier and all was fixed. Everything works fine and is as accurate as before. Just wanted to share my experience. Have fun guys ! ![]() ![]() |
