    hurco & mastercam

When I post a program the G54 is not shown in the begining of it.
I want to post the same tool path with different offsets. G54 G55 etc.
How do I get the G# to be shown in the program? Is the a setting in mastercam for this or do I edit the post processor?

    thanks for any help

My advice is put this post in the mastercam section. I run an old BMC 20 sometimes with mastercam V9. I got a lot of help from the guys in the mastercam section. All I had to do was edit the post processor and save it as one specific for my machine (so the original stayed as it was). They just told me exactly what to do, it was great.

I have a loop program I use to do this. I also sell a manual and give the loop program away with the manuals. $70.00 US will buy both manuals and get you the loop program that runs in HNC.

Thanks jetski but want I was asking was. The line of code I was asking about looks like this. G0 G90 X2.500 Y2.500. What I want is G0 G55 X2.500 Y 2.500.
When the post writes the program the G55 is missing. If I could get it to show
the offset # I could then change it in Mastercam.

If you want your code to be a certain way, it would be a mastercam thing. Either a setting in the cam, post processor, or both. The most important thing is to make sure you under stand your machine and know what code format it requires. That way you know how to (or tell some else that knows how to edit the post) configure the post processor on your Cam system to give you the correct code you need. It may be a lot of hassle to get the post configured right, and it may even cost a little money to get the post modified. But in the end, it's all worth it once you achieve error free code that you can run on your machine without any hand editing. Your best bet maybe contacting someone at Mastercam about this and Hurco also if your have questions about the code format for your machine.

I have ran Ulitmax III & 4 controls myself using G54 (etc) work offsets with quite a bit success. Your code format looks good to me (G0 G55 X2.500 Y 2.500), but you may also want to add a G90 and maybe a G40 as well.

I'm sure you found the G54's offset setting on the Hurco's when your in the NC mode (go to Part setup, then look for "Work offsets")

    Good luck
