The free download does not allow the user to tryout the Turning
I don't think I am paying £6000 without trying out all of the features.
Hi All
I use SW for my design and currently use BobCAM V3 Pro Mill and Lathe to create G Code.
I have been thinking of a change to HSMWorks as they seem to be more dedicated to SW and BobCAD seem to be more focused on their own design software.
I just have a few questions:
1. Can I post process for Mach 3 (Mill and Lathe)?
2. What s the price for HSMWorks (Mill and Lathe)?
3. Is their good support with the software?
4. Does it support metric and imperial?

Yes we have posts for the Mach 3 but any changes are done by our post team at no cost.
2. What is the price for HSMWorks (Mill and Lathe)?
For pricing its best to check with you local reseller. I can tell you that the 2D mill HSMXpress is free.
3. Is their good support with the software?
Being part of the support team I’ll say absolutely
4. Does it support metric and imperial?
Absolutely
Hello,
I am the Managing Director of Man and Machine, the Autodesk Master UK Reseller for HSMWorks. Looks like TheCamMan has answered most of the questions except the one's about local pricing and support, both of which I would be delighted to assist you with. Please contact me directly at phil.read@manandmachine.co.uk and I or one of my team will do all we can to assist.
Regards......
I've been using the free version for 2.5 years now. And while it doesn't include turning or 3 axis simultaneous milling, I can tell you it is fully capable of making any 2.5D prismatic part you can think of, and even a little more if you're creative with your setup and programming. I've made thousands of parts and not spent a penny on CAM software. So when the time comes that I do have a need for the full software, I will absolutely be looking to get the full version.
As for not spending £6000 without trying all the features, you're right. I wouldn't spend that either without a thorough investigation. Fortunately you can also try out the full version for 30 days by contacting your reseller.
They have also more recently introduced a subscription option where you can rent it monthly, quarterly, or yearly. I don't know if that option is available in Ireland, but if it is it would be a good way to try out the product for more than 30 days, at a very reasonable price.
I would also add that the online support forum is quite excellent.
