I'm loving it so far... I had to get them to send a post for mach3 as the one in it would not allow me to turn off G28 until I get my limit switches setup.
I was just wondering how many of you have downloaded and installed HSMXpress and what you think of it.

so far it has been great. really easy to use and since the tool path info follows the part file i can go share with coworkers easily. The generic post that came with it worked right off the bat with no modification.
Really like the HSMXpress product so far but would like to get set up sheets to output in imperial instead of metric, is that possible?
Thanks,

Takes a little playing to get the idea but after that I think it is great.
My friend just got the latest version of Mastercam (he made an upgrade that spans several versions) and he is so excited about the new CAM features - hate to tell him that most of the 2.5D ones he has raved about so far are in HSMexpress already.
Even for a humble HSMexpress user support has been great.
Haven't had a chance to actually use it. Only done a couple of the tutorial things on it. It really looks like it is going to be great for us. First impression from my engineer was, "How can they give that away for free?"
Of course that is so we'll decide we can't live without it and decide to pay to expand and upgrade it.Can't wait to make some chips with it in the next few days.

It's awesome. I'm telling everyone I know. I've used it to make a few parts and am very happy.
Just get some real speeds and feeds algorithms put in place (in HSMWorks) to go along with the great tool paths. Solidcam, is doing it with iMachining and it is pretty powerful. But the HSMWorks interfaces is a bit better in my mind.

I think it's awesome. The 2d strategies work very well on my cnc router, I'm sure the 3d capabilities would also be awesome. I like the simulation mode with 'Stock' turned on. That's something I haven't had in a cam program before.
Some of the stuff in the gcode file had to be manually removed for Mach3, but that's neither here nor there.
I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago, did the tutorials that come with it, and watched the ones that NexGenCAM has on Youtube. After a couple of hours, I was generating toolpaths, and made 4 parts last weekend at home with facing, high-speed pocket roughing (awesome) and finishing, profiling, and drilling. I couldn't be happier and can't believe it's so easy to use, and it's FREE. Actually I can believe it's free, because that's how they get you to use it and buy the full version. Now we're looking at switching to it from Mastercam at work. I can't imagine using my Bobcad that I was struggling with at home anymore.
^^^ Yeah, if I can't get work to buy the real HSMWorks for 3D parts I'm going to have to find a way to save up the bucks and buy it myself. It's too good to step down to the cheap programs.
