    HSMWorks posting to a robot!

    Since purchasing HSMWorks for doing some work on our VMC, I wanted to see if we could apply it to a 6 axis industrial robot to do some 2D plasma cutting.

    With a small VB script program to transfer the G-code to robot format, we had excellent luck with it...

    Part designed in Solidworks sheet metal, flattened, and I used a 2D contour cut with zero depth...I selected a flat end mill that matched the plasma cutter kerf, and posted the code....some small mods to the post to get the G-code in the format that we liked, ran through VB script to generate the robot code (we could probably write a Javascript post that eliminates the need for the VB script post-post, but thats for later)...

    Anyway - here is a video of it in action - this was first try with HSMWorks produced code:

    Tools Gear were originaly designed as a interfece for inserting and reading dynamic instrumatation.
