I should have a Newsletter out this week. Maybe I should include a link to a revision list? HSM has rolled out many of the changes throughout the year, so what might be most useful would be a list from 2010 R1 to 2011 R1. Let me see what I can put together.

While we have not comprised a complete list from the initial release of HSMWorks 2010 to the initial release of 2011 the following is a look at a number of changes that were presnt as soon as we started beta testing HSMWorks 2011 R0 (Beta). This verbatim list is dated September 03 2010.

• SolidWorks 2011 is now supported.
• A new ramping option called "Plunge outside stock" has been added for 3D pocket.
• Stock boundaries can now be specified to do core roughing with 3D pocket.
• Predrill ramping option is now available for 2D pocket.
• Minimum cutting radius used to round inner corners is now available for 3D contour.
• Added support for left and right compensation for 3D path.
• Left and right compensation is now available for multi-axis contour.
• A new flow strategy is now available. Flow supports 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining.
• Added support for selecting same color faces.
• Added support for face and chamfer tool for most milling strategies.
• Added support for manual NC (i.e. for outputting comments and simple commands) operations.
• Added support for "must touch check surface" (name subject to change).
