Hi, First post here, I bought a HobbyCNC pro board that the original user had blown during assembly, typical stuff the +5 VDC was reading under 2 volts and the regulators were getting hot. They had already cut off the Z axis driver and it looks like there is some smooge on the motor connector block from that. I ended up cutting off the other two X&Y drivers and now the power supply voltages are OK. Anyway I have replacement chips on the way but I do have one brand new in the package chip on hand, so the question is can I install just one chip for testing? If so does it matter if I put it in X,Y or Z I just want to see if it will talk to my PC. Eventually this will drive my Taig lathe and milling attachement and perhaps more. Thanks Kristin |
