    nothing's exploded yet...

    ...so that's good, right?

Have all the electronics together, board and power bits. All the volts checked out, etc etc. Just plugged it into the AC, and the cooling fan started up... and nothing popped or fizzed, so I'm assuming it's all in good shape so far.

I have to find my lappy's docking station I have stashed somewhere (yay, I finally have a use for it! ) so I can see if it's actually dancing...

    ...and nothing continues to explode!

Assembled the parts together to make the computer to drive it, including a cheapo LCD monitor from eBay, and connected it all up. Installed the trial of Mach3 and set up the pins. Playing with the jog buttons, the motors move! w00t!

Watching all three axis turn on demand would seem to be the low water mark of all the electronics working properly. Added the thermal paste to keep the chips happy.

Anyways, onwards to the machine building itself...
