    bobinette,
I just got my hobbycncpro kit on friday. Really a great setup! You will also need a good set of drill bits, crimping tool, rosin solder, a good iron, heat sink compound, small screwdrivers, etc. It took me about 2 hours to put the board together and another 2-3 to do the case (including homedepot trip and nonstandard case).
Directions are good and rarely left me wondering for more than a few minutes.

    Good luck!
    Thomas

if you look at my new 4x4 machine, i have the hobbycnc Pro board and the 305oz/in motors, and for my connectors I use terminal blocks, i find it allot easier and not so restricting if i want to upgrade or make any changes.

Hi everyone, receive the kit yesterday and now I am assembling the board and I would like to know if the jumper J4 is only for disabling the idle current reduction and if I have to leave it in place for normal usage.
I would like to thank HappyHeli.com for the good pics, those pics help me out quite a bit, without those pics I would have been confuse often
    Thank you

For normal usage I have J4 OFF, that sets the current reduction on keeping the motors cooler when your not running the machine.

    HobbyCNC EZ

Hi everyone, just finished assembling the controller, for the first test, applied 12 dc to TP5 and only got .5vdc out of "+5 VDC" test point. I suspect that U5 and U4 are installed backward. What is the correct orientation? The aluminum tab facing left or right? Thanks for any imput.
