Full voltage to printer port!?!?! | | Hello all!! I hooked up my board last night and smoked a portion of my board. I have the Hobbycnc Pro 4 axis. I might have messed up with my original power supply, but can reproduce the problem with a converted cpu power supply. There are eight pins on the board that have full applied voltage on them. If you turn the board upside down, they are the eight bottom row pins starting from the left with the port facing you. This smoked the main trace leading to them!!!!! I hooked up the cpu ps and it just turns off. Power is being shorted!!! Should there be that much power going into my pc? I dont know what to do. Thanks in advance, James.
Update: I may have fixed my own problem. Aperantly one has to isolate the grounded conductor on the power supply. This was only a need if you were puting several cpu power supplies in series(daisychaining), or so i thought. I isolated it and like magic it works!!!! At least one does, I will have to see if the others work.............
