Folks,
Our Yahoo hosted support group is the best place for timely replies. I have to answer the same questions twice as many get posted here too.

We will rarely check this forum in the future.

I'm sorry and disappointed to hear this! I've always enjoyed reading your informative posts, tips, pointers and other information. You will be missed (at least by me).

I'm still considering upgrading to the HobbyCNC PRO kit but I will be EXTREMELY reluctant to join the HobbyCNC Yahoo! support group (or any other Yahoo! group for that matter). Been there, done that and really, really, really didn't like it, at all. I joined a few other Yahoo! like groups in the past and didn't like them, equally as much. From now on I do what Nancy Reagan taught me, I "just say NO"!

I understand why you're doing it, but, I wish you'd reconsider. Any thoughts of starting a forum of your own, similar to this one, on HobbyCNC's web site? Now that, I would go for. As long as it's as far away from Yahoo! as possible.

Just my 2 bits. Keep up the good work and be sure to come visit from time to time.

I agree. I am a member of the yahoo CNC group and apparently I missed an important post... Actually I saw it but didn't remember what it said and could never find it again...

Yahoo groups are way hard to navigate and read through with way to many clicks to get anything done. Wouldn't have been my first choice of a support forum.

Totally can see why you don't want to have to monitor 2 boards and have info posted here thats only for customers but man yahoo groups have the worst format ever.

Side note.
Support has been great from hobbyCNC tho, they just recently had a internet glitch but as soon as they were back up, I got my questions answered and I was up and running very quick.

Ditto. HobbyCNC rules but Yahoo Groups absolutely suck in all ways imaginable. Slow, lousy threads, the worst search in the world, and it looks like it was built by an 8year old. With the kind of money Yahoo has, you would think they could do a better job on Yahoo Groups. On the other hand, CNCZone is top notch all the way and is hands down the best board I have ever been on. I understand your situation Dave, but, I wish you would find an alternative to Yahoo.

Im afraid I have to agree with the above comments. As you know Im also a member of your yahoo group but I really dont like the yahoo forum interface. Im always thinking that Im going to miss a reply to my posts because of the way they're set up, and they really are not user friendly. Hence, I try to always post here for an answer first before going there as a last resort. Which is a shame since your after sales service is so good, and I end up asking people here who dont have the thorough understanding of your board that you have, questions which you could probably answer rather quickly. I also dont find it very do-able to search the yahoo forum in case my questions have arisen earlier which undoubtedly they have. I could do that real easy on this type of site.
I also would definately go for a HobbyCNC forum set up using the VBulletin format.
I can understand why you are quitting this site, but its a crying shame, thats all.

Pity you are going to Yahoo groups , I won't follow Every time I join a Yahoo group, within days my email box starts getting flooded with crap I don't really want to know about .

You can subscribe to Yahoo! groups via email and use the features of your email client to manage the posts. I use Yahoo! groups with GMail and it works really well.

Sure.

Basically, you can turn a Yahoo! group into the equivalent of a listserv (an email list, or email "reflector" if you will). Instead of visiting the group web site, you get the emails in your inbox, and to reply you simply reply to the message.

To set up the Yahoo! group to send you email, visit the groups home page while signed in. Then click "Edit Membership". This page will display email delivery options. Choose an email option and click "Save".

You should now get individual messages posted to the web site sent to your inbox.

You can read these messages using any email client, but I use GMail. It automatically groups related emails into a thread and you can now "mute" threads that just won't die.

I use Outlook Express for the Mach3 group. I used to read it on the website, but Yahoos recent changes made it MUCH harder to read. Now I can quickly read through the 50-100 posts per day.

I just got joined the Yahoo group, and rarely come to the'Zone anymore, cuz dial-up sucks ass. I get so frustrated waiting for "ads.cnczone.com" I could puke. The yahoo group is better for us hicks without hi-speed, but the old BBS-style posting sucks. I dunno. There IS no happy medium! That said, I forgot why I came here in the first place today, and think I'll go my merry way and continue on with my JGRO build, and try to find info on my HobbyCNC EZ board with 305 oz-in steppers elsewhere!!!!!
